It all started in February of 1999, the week I became 68 years old. My wife, Helen, seemed a little down and asked me to sing to her. You wouldn’t want to hear me sing. But when I began to talk, the words I spoke rhymed. Nothing in my life like that had happened before. I never wrote two lines in my life that would rhyme. In fact, I didn’t even care for poetry.

After about six months, the type of poems changed. Many of the poems at first were about family. Then I started writing poems like “God Where are You?”, “Silent”, “You Just Don’t Care”, “Heaven of Brass”, “You Did Not Come”.

Later, on Christian T V, I began to hear the very things I had written. I believe they are for people that have gone through or that are going through difficult times, pain, sorrow, hurts, that are depressed and discouraged and were praying or thinking those things I was writing. I believe they are to let people know that God loves them. He cares. He hasn’t or never will forsake them.

God Bless,
Philip C. Vinson
